This was especially fun to watch in the ninth inning. Auburn had tied it up in the seventh. The fans were really worked up. Then, the Gators struck again in the ninth. Nice to see the disappointment in the Auburn crowd.
I guess it says something about me to enjoy Auburn getting their feelings hurt just when they think they're about to celebrate. But, I remember too many Auburn wins over us, with last minute comebacks like that.

Florida opens baseball series at Auburn with 4-2 win
Special to Gatorsports.com
AUBURN, Ala. — Florida's baseball team extended its winning streak to a season-best seven games Friday with a 4-2 win over Auburn.
Colby Halter's ninth-inning RBI triple broke a 2-2 tie, and Franco Alemán had a strong start with five strikeouts in 5.0 shutout innings, matching his longest career outing as the Gators improve to 27-11, 10-6 SEC.
Auburn (16-19, 2-14) had an early opportunity with two on and one out in the bottom of the third, but a Jacob Young outfield assist followed by an Alemán strikeout kept the Tigers off the board.
Jud Fabian launched Florida into the lead in the top of the fourth, following a Kirby McMullen single with a moon shot to left field for his 13th home run of the season and a 2-0 Gators lead.
Alemán gave way to Christian Scott in the sixth after issuing a leadoff walk, and Scott kept the inherited runner from crossing. Auburn tied the game, however, in the bottom of the seventh off a Ryan Bliss two-run home run.
Still tied it in the ninth, Kendrick Calilao drew a leadoff walk and Brock Edge entered the game as a pinch-runner. Halter came through with a deep triple over the centerfielder's head to drive Edge across, and Josh Rivera followed up with a base hit to drive Halter in for the insurance run.
"Colby Halter's triple to center field was a really big at-bat for us, and the Josh's (Rivera) at-bat to drive in the second run (of the ninth) was huge," UF coach Kevin O'Sullivan said. "We got a lot of contributions from a lot of different people tonight, and hopefully this road win will help us moving forward."
Jack Leftwich worked a clean ninth to pick up his first save of the season and third of his career. Scott struck out four in 3.0 innings with two runs allowed and earned the win.
The teams continue the series with Saturday's start tentatively pushed back to 7 p.m. ET due to rain, with a final determination on start time expected at 1 p.m. The game will stream on SEC Network + and will be available on radio on 850-AM/98.1-FM.
Notes: Florida had 10 hits, the team's fifth straight game with double-digit hits. ... Fabian's 13 home runs lead the team and rank No. 2 in the SEC.

This game got fun to watch starting in the bottom of the seventh. The Vols coach was mouthy all game. As Christian Scott was walking in after shutting down their hitters he shared a little wisdom with him. Don't know what he said, but, as you can see, the Gators bats came to life in the eighth. The Vols closer got hammered. The Vols fans, who were celebrating prematurely, went silent. The Gators were celebrating after 9.

No. 12 Florida rallies to upend No. 6 Tennessee
Special to Gatorsports.com
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Florida needed some clutch performers Sunday to salvage a game in the SEC baseball series against No. 6 Tennessee.
The No. 12 Gators found at least two players who stepped up for the 7-6 win.
Pinch-hitter Kris Armstrong belted a three-run home run in the eighth inning to support the relief pitching of Christian Scott (1-2), who went 42/3 scoreless inning, striking out six and retiring 14 of the 16 batters he faced.
"A lot of guys contributed," UF coach Kevin O'Sullivan said. "Kris (Armstrong) coming off the bench, hitting a three-run homer. Christian Scott's outing was outstanding on the mound."
Florida (21-11, 6-6 SEC), which lost Friday's game 6-4 and Saturday's 5-4, ended Tennessee's modest four-game winning streak in the all-time series. UT fell to 27-6 overall and 9-3 in the league.
"This league is not easy and it's difficult to navigate through the 30 games," O'Sullivan said. "Obviously, today had some importance to it because we wanted to get back home and be .500.
"Hopefully, a game like this can give us a little confidence moving forward."
Trailing 6-4 after one out in the eighth, Josh Rivera singled and Colby Halter doubled before Armstrong, pinch-hitting for shortstop Jordan Carrion, homered to right field off the Vols' third pitcher Sean Hunley (4-2) to put the Gators up 7-6.
Florida took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jordan Butler doubled and scored on a Halter double.
Tennessee answered with a run of its own in the bottom of the second thanks to a bases loaded walk.
The Gators went up 3-1 in the fourth on Jacob Young's two-run home run that also scored Rivera, who had doubled.
Florida hurt itself again in the bottom of the fourth by giving up three runs on two hits, a passed ball and two errors to allow the Vols to take a 4-3 lead.
Hunter Barco pitched four innings for UF, allowing five hits, four runs (only two earned), five walks and six strikeouts. He was was placed by Ryan Cabarcas.
Tennessee made it 6-4 in the fifth when Luc Lipcius walked and came home on Connor Pavolony's home run. After a double Cabarcas was replaced by Scott.
Volunteer starting pitcher Blade Tidwell gave up eight hits and three runs in five innings, walking three and striking out four. Camden Sewell came in in relief.
Sewell got wild in the seventh to allow the Gators to score a run. Young was hit by pitch, Nathan Hickey walked and both advanced a base on a wild pitch. Kirby McMullen drove in Young with a groundout, but Sewell got out of further damage.

ATHENS, Ga. — Maybe the maintenance folks should have plugged in to Charla Echols' bat to prevent a power outage at Jack Turner Stadium on Monday night.
Echols supplied plenty of power with two home runs to lead No. 5 Florida to the SEC softball series win over No. 20 Georgia, 8-1.
The Gators improved to 27-4 overall, 10-2 in the SEC, while the Bulldogs dropped to 23-7, 4-5.
Florida scored three runs in the first inning when Echols drove in Hannah Adams, who had a bunt single, with her two-run home run and a Avery Goelz RBI groundout. Echols also hit a two-run home run in the first inning of Sunday's 17-1 win.
Echols made it 4-0 with a solo home run in the third, her eighth of the season.
Georgia's Savana Sikes homered to bring the score to 4-1 in the bottom of the third before the Gators began to pull away with two runs in the fourth on run-scoring groundouts from Adams and Kendyl Lindaman.
The Gators had a chance to pad their lead with runners on second and third with only one out in the sixth, but came out empty.
A power surge then caused a 23-minute delay with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Cheyenne Lindsey added a sacrifice fly and Adams a RBI single in the seventh to push the game out of reach.
Starting pitcher Katie Chronister (6-1) allowed five hits and the earned run in four innings before giving with to Natalie Lugo in the fifth. Lugo took care of business on the mound from there to earn her third save.
Mary Wilson Avant (12-3), Saturday's winning pitcher, took the loss.
The Gators return home to face South Florida (17-7) for a doubleheader Wednesday starting at 5 p.m.

Top-ranked Florida gymnasts advance in NCAA Regional
Special to Gatorsports.com
ATHENS, Ga. — Top-ranked Florida, led by Trinity Thomas' 10 on the bars, advanced Friday to the NCAA Regional final Saturday with a winning score of 197.95, the Gators third-highest total of the season, to grab the top spot of the night session.
In the afternoon session, host Georgia fell to No. 8 seed Minnesota (197.625) and No. 9 seed Denver at Stegeman Coliseum. Georgia finished third overall with a 196.750 -196.375 win over Oregon State.
"Wow," Florida coach Jenny Rowland said. "Something that the Gators are really good at is just being normal, having fun, and really, they showed up. [They] showed that this team is on a mission to make the most of the moment."
North Carolina State also advanced out of the night session with a 196.775. Illinois (196.375) and Central Michigan (195.575) were eliminated.
The top two teams from Saturday's 7 p.m. regional final competition (ESPN3) advance to the NCAA Championships set for April 16-17 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Florida's Megan Skaggs and Savannah Schoenherr shared the vault win with a 9.900 score.
Behind Thomas on the bars was Skaggs in second with a 9.950. Thomas posted a 10.0 on her only event of the evening. It was her second perfect bars score of 2021 and her third of her career for the event.
"[It was] even a little bit more special, because I've been extra focused on dismounts. So when I stuck that landing, there were a lot of emotions going through me," Thomas said.
"I almost cried, I don't know why, but I think because [uneven bars] is the only thing that I've been training, and I just want to do as good as I can for my team. I'm used to doing all the events, so when I'm only doing one, I [feel] like I [have] to do it right, so [I was] just super excited to do my thing."
Florida's Alyssa Baumann won the balance beam at 9.975, with teammates Ellie Lazzari and Leah Clapper tied for second at 9.950.
Nya Reed of Florida won the floor exercise with a 9.950.
Skaggs won the all-around at 39.650, while Lazzari tied for second with CMU's Hannah Demers with a 39.500.
