Supposedly some Power 5 schools came calling to Mr. Patterson prior to his more obvious recent success, and he couldn't be lured away from TCU then. So the talk is that it would take an insane amount of money (like the Michigan Harbaugh deal) to get him to even reconsider.

Living down in S. FL, I am aware of a fact that may help Woody accept Randy with greater comfort. When scUM fired him, they invoked the "morals clause" in his contract to avoid the pay off of the balance of the contract. They refused to negotiate the pay out and so Randy had to sue to get his money. The case went to trial and Shannon was completely exonerated from all of the issues invoked by UM and they were forced to pay him his money. This is proof enough to me to accept him. Also, it was well known down here that Shannon had put Shapiro off limits to all players and recruiting activities. He has a lot of credibility in the community down here. He played his HS football for Miami Norland HS and college at UM. He is a good hire for us down here.
