Re: [gatortalk] What do you think about today's game?

I seem to recall you saying this last week...

Two years ago, I expected Coach Muschamp to be an upper level coach.
After four years, I am afraid that he may be another Ron Zook. We seem to
be a long way from competing with South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, Texas
A7M, LSU, and Alabama.

Is it time for a new coach?

...and I said it's too early to tell. I think it's no longer too early to tell. This wasn't a valiant effort against a better team, it was a poorly-prepared team with a poor game plan.

As much as I like Muschamp, I think it's time to admit that he simply cannot get the job done. And as much as I like Jeff as a person, he's just never going to be a good quarterback. I watch team after team playing freshman quarterbacks who are sharper and more poised than him... who are faster decision-makers and who scramble better. I love Roper's play-calling, but Jeff simply cannot execute. I think I'll go sharpen my pitchfork now and get my torch soaking in pitch.

I am pleased with the D-line in general.  They made some mistakes but I think they did well enough to win.  I am excited by the turnovers caused by the defense.  I am also pleased that they are not giving up.

Our receivers are improved but they overall are not that good.  We have had too many dropped balls.  Driskel shows a little promise but I am still not convinced he is much more than a middle of a road SEC QB.  His skills seem to generally be OK but I did not see the kind of fire and leadership i had hoped to see today.    His decision making was a little improved.

I think I we should have had a package or two for Harris to give him some big game experience.
