[gatortalk] Stadium sound

Here's a question for anyone who might know:
Are they now amplifying the band over the PA system? The band sounds louder than in the past and I noticed a boom Mike is being used to pick up sound. That could be just for TV purposes, but it sounds so loud that I wondered. They also have a bunch of mikes to pick up crowd noise, which again could be just for TV or possibly also for amplification. Anybody know anything about this?
For the record, the PA system is now too loud for me and I'll be bringing earplugs to the next game, but probably the young people like it.
