Also remember at this time last year, we had Patrick Young, Chris Walker,
and Damontre Harris on the roster for this year, meaning we had 3 other big
guys to compete against for playing time.

He went to Kansas and to some degree walked into the starting lineup
considering Kansas lost much if not their entire front line.

The other thing is Norm Roberts was on Billy Donovan's staff for about 1
year when Embiid first got to Gainesville, he's now at Kansas as Bill Self's
#1 assistant...could have possibly been a connection there...

Embiid was considered raw, he came from Camaroon and only played one year at
the Rock School, and had only been in the US for two years, so he didn't
have any real ties to the Gators or Gainesville.

Everyone knew he would be a star, but thought it would take home a year or
two to develop into a prime time big man. After last night, he may be a one
and done.
