Paula and I will be in Lexington and attending the game. We have no extra tickets. They won't be hard to get. Let's meet up.

--I'm impressed with him. Of course Tennessee just gave up 62 to Oregon last week, so I'm reserving my opinion until LSU.So, anyone going to Kentucky next Saturday? I need 4 tickets. 2 are for Shane and his wife, Amy.

By Edgar Thompson | UF Swamp Things, Orlando SentinelClear off a spot on the Tyler Murphy bandwagon for Steve Spurrier. The Ol' Ball Coach spent South Carolina's open week catching up on some college football, including Saturday's national SEC game between Florida and Tennessee.By day's end, no one had impressed the man synonymous with great quarterback play at Florida more than Murphy."I tell you what, yesterday the most impressive player, I thought, in college football was the quarterback that came into the game down at Florida. A kid named Tyler Murphy," Spurrier said Sunday to open his weekly teleconference. "It's very unfortunate that Jeff Driskel broke his fibula, I guess, in his ankle. But I didn't even know who the second-team quarterback was down there; I don't think anybody knew too much."And then we find out this kid's been there five years paying his dues, doing whatever they ask him to do, so it was really sort of a warm-heart feeling when a young man who has been there five years gets a chance to go in there and plays very well."Murphy, a redshirt junior, had not thrown a pass in a college game prior to Sunday. But he finished 8 of 14 for a 134 yards and a 52-yard touchdown on a screen pass to Solomon Patton.Murphy also rushed for 84 yards and a seven-yard touchdown on 10 carries. He converted seven times on third down with either his feet or his arm.The performance won over Spurrier, which is no small thing at Florida.Spurrier was a Heisman-winning quarterback at the school and would coach some of the best Gators' signalcallers, including Danny Wuerffel, who served as "Celebrity Two Bits" to fire up the crowd prior to Saturday's 31-17 win."I'm sure they gave him a game ball and I'm sure there was a lot of emotion in the locker room for Tyler Murphy," Spurrier said. "He was impressive. Played well, handled the ball, ran a little here, threw a little there, really played well to help the Gators beat Tennessee."I just wanted to say that he was the most impressive guy in college football yesterday."Email Edgar Thompson atmailto:egthompson@tribune.com.
