First, arguable ones.
QB. Not so sure about Tebow. He was the #22 national recruit according to Rivals. Leak was #26, for comparison. I'd be stunned if Spurrier weren't more highly regarded; he was a high school all-ameican. I understand that formal rankings didn't exist then, but that does not appear to be a criteria; Lomas Brown is included.
RB. Fason. Emmitt was the National Player of the Year by both Parade magazine and USA Today. C4 was #10 nationally; good but not best.
DT. This is a clear miss. Brown was only the 3rd best DT that year, 23rd rated player overall. In the very next class, Florida pulled in the #1 and #2 DTs, two fellas named Sharif Floyd and Dominic Easely. They were #4 and #7 overall nationally that year; light years ahead of Brown.
DE. How is this position excluded? Ronal Powell was the #1 overall recruit in the county, probably our only overall #1 outside of Emmitt and Percy Harvin.
