As list moderator I felt that knowing how charged the atmosphere is concerning *anything* that can be construed as political, particularly in an election year, that the picture that was posted could hardly be expected to not draw a snide remark or two.
Since those remarks were relatively tame and didn't lead to a downward spiraling thread that got nasty, I refrained from chastising either group about the off topic and (technically) against the rules posts.
Actually, until this post appeared, I thought that it had died of its own accord.
In any event, it is now "officially" closed.

Given the past political unpleasant in GatorTalk in the past, I am very surprised that you all could not suspend your political persuasion and just enjoy the fact that the US president was doing the gator chomp. I think that's cool no matter the political affiliation.
I don't appreciate reading all the "barf" and similar comments. More importantly, I expected better from you all, since you are all very aware that there are differing political views among us.
