Won't this put us in the top 5?

Without Steele, we were 11th with 252 points on 23 commits;

That's an average of 12 per commit.

Assuming a 5* is worth more than than the 3 and 4 stars we have so far; add about 15 points, I would guess.

Anything above 265 puts us 4th.

Penn State has the potential to make a move as well, it would seem. 254 points on only 18 signees.

[gatortalk] Bowl Pick 'em results

Seeing as how tonight is another Alabama-Clemson game, guess we should wrap up Pick 'em, huh?
9-4 was the top score among the bowl games, and seven people hit that mark.  So congratulations to Daniel Jackson, Deborah Tauscher, Jim Schenone, Mark Thomas, Shawn Lewis, Wayne Gaff, and Woody Bass.

A whole bunch of people were second at 8-5, so congratulations to them as well.  Note that the underdog teams were 10-3!

Adding up the regular season *and* the bowl games, Ken Duffield finished first at 90-57, Gregory Willis was second at 89-58, and Jim Schenone was third at 88-59.  Very close race all the way.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable off-season, we'll see you in August.  GO GATORS!!

Florida's 2019 class landed its highest-rated prospect Saturday afternoon when five-star defensive back Chris Steele committed to the Gators during the Army All-American game.

Steele, a 6-foot-1, 184-pound corner out of Bellflower, California, committed to the Gators during the third quarter of the showcase of highly recruited prospects in the 2019 class.

"They always say that home is where the heart is. And my heart is at the real DBU. I'm a Florida Gator," Steele said during an interview on NBC.

Steele, who signed early with Florida and is an early enrollee, is ranked the No. 40 overall player in the 2019 class by the 247Sports composite ranking.

With Steele's commitment and signature, Florida's total number of early signees rises to 21. When the Spring semester commences Monday, the Gators expect to welcome nearly a dozen early enrollees to Gainesville.

*Steele led St. John Bosco to the state championship game in 2018.

*Recorded 32 total tackles, two blocked field goals, and one interception during his senior season, finishing his career with 135 total tackles.

*Chose Florida over Alabama, Cal, Florida State, LSU, Stanford, UCLA, and USC, among others.

Gators land four-star wide receiver

Florida's 2019 class picked up a commitment Thursday night on national television from a four-star wide receiver.

Arjei Henderson, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound wide receiver out of Fort Bend Travis High in Richmond, Texas, committed to the Gators over Florida State during the Under Armour All-American game in Orlando. With Henderson's commitment, the Gators have landed their highest-ranked prospect in ESPN's rankings.

<image1.jpeg>

Henderson's decision surprised many recruiting analysts and rival head coaches, too. The Seminoles appeared set to land Henderson, ranked the No. 22 wide receiver prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings, before the Gators made a last-minute push. He had previously made verbal commitments to Oklahoma and Oregon.

"It's been a roller coaster," Henderson said of his recruiting process during an ESPN interview. "This is the finish line. It's the most special to me."

The Gators are now up to 22 prospects in the 2019 class, with all but Henderson and five-star linebacker Diwun Black signing in the early signing period last month.
